Will I have rear wheel clearance problems?

Submitted on 2011/09/11 at 5:32 pm

I recently purchased a a DJM flip kit part 3 RK2507-7 . I had a blow out on my tires before I received my order so I purchased new tires . The tires that were on my truck were 2654022 and I had a 10 inch gap between the tire tread and the fender well . I purchased a set of 3054522 to replace the bad tires and now I have a 8 inch gap . I was wondering if I could still use this kit or maybe use parts of it to lower my truck or do I need to purchase another kit?

Thanks Charles

We cannot say for sure, but it seems you should have no trouble with your combination. If you find the rear to low however, you can add a couple of parts to the 7″ to bring it all the way up to 4″. Go ahead and see where you end up knowing you can make adjustments!

  1. Hi, i have a 88 ford ranger it has a 350 C.I chevy engine in it and i was wondering if your DJM front springs could handle the extra weight i also want to put a flipkit on the back with some wide slicks to give it more of a dragster look with the tires recessed into the wheel wells i was wondering what kit i should use ?

    • Hoolian,

Sounds like an interesting project, send us a picture when your done! We don’t make drop coil springs for your Ranger or any of the I-beam trucks because of the alignment issues with short coils. We build lowered I beams for these trucks that will give you a 3″ drop with the factory spring. Also you can use our flip kit for the rear, however if you use “dragster slicks” you may have to “tub” the bed and make modifications to the rear suspension.
Here is a link to our parts for your Ranger and lewt us know how it goes!!
